Join Elizabeth and Sue for a night socializing while learning about thermofax screen printing.
You will print a canvas tote bag using their unique screens. Discover how you can use this technique to print on your own fabrics, paper, polymer clay or pottery. This technique can be used to decorate pre-made scarves and clothing, as well as yardage. Make your art unique by understanding how you can use your own photographs or drawings to create original pieces.
We will be using acrylic paint so please bring an apron or wear clothing you don’t mind getting messy. Tote bag (plain canvas color), printing surface, paint and screens will be provided, participants are welcome to bring some small (about 12 inch square) pieces of fabric or mixed media papers to print on as time allows.
Susan Price and Elizabeth Gibson met many moons ago while teaching high school Home Economics at Oakton. In 2011 they decided to buy a thermofax machine and form a small business named PGFiber2Art. They have a store on Etsy selling their own unique thermofax screen images and make screens for others who send in their own artwork as well as maintaining a blog about their creative pursuits. You can also follow them on Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram.
